CO-EXISTING WITH WILDLIFE IN BARRINGTON:
As human development continues, conflicts with wildlife increase. At Barrington PAW we strongly advocate for peaceful coexistence with wildlife and encourage residents to remember that this is their home too! Barrington is home to a wide array of wildlife. This includes mammals such as raccoons, skunks, opossums, foxes, white tailed deer, coyotes, and fisher cats. It also includes birds of prey such as bald eagles, hawks, osprey and owls.
Here are few important pointers:
-- Never feed wildlife either intentionally or with unintended sources, such as pet food left outside, uncovered compost, spilled bird seed or uncovered trash
-- Keep cats indoors for their safety and the safety of song birds and other small animals
-- Keep dogs safely leashed and within sight at all times
